The Unc League started with Calgary pickup runs. The league gives that community a season: organized games, familiar teammates and basketball you can put in your calendar.
If you're looking for adult recreational basketball with games worth competing in, you're in the right place. Some guys have played for years. Some are coming back after a long break. You don't need to arrive with a full roster or a college résumé.
In your forties? You're part of who this is for. The league is built around men 30 and up, rather than a separate over-40 division. Check the season details for the age range and format.

Want a single run instead of a season? Our private pickup basketball runs are for ages 30+, with capped spots and advance booking.
Runs happen when we can secure a court. The gym can change, and there are fewer Friday runs once fall programs fill the calendars. Get the booking code and check what's available before making plans.

Do I need a team?
No. Join solo and we'll place you on a team, so you don't need to find seven other guys. Winter registration also lets you bring a team if you already have a squad.
Can I sign up with a friend?
Yes. You can join solo or bring a team for Winter 2027. If you're joining solo and want to play with a friend, tell us in the registration form. We take requests into account, but can't guarantee every request because teams still need to be balanced.
I haven't played in years. Can I still join?
Yeah, that's a lot of guys in the league. Plenty of people are coming back after years off, and you don't need to be in game shape before you start.
If getting back into basketball is part of how you want to get active again, that's fine. Just know it's a real league with guys who want good games, not a workout class.
Is this a beginner league?
No. Most guys here have played before and the games are meant to be worth showing up for. But it's not only for former college players either.
Drafting the teams ourselves is what lets us handle both.
How much will I actually play?
Rosters are capped at eight and that's deliberate. We're not building 11 or 12 man rosters where you spend half the game on the bench.
Nobody's promising identical minutes every game, but eight is small enough that everybody gets a real run.
What if I have to pull out?
You get a full refund any time before we announce the teams.
Once the draft happens your spot is part of somebody's roster, so after that you can either pass it to another player or bank the full amount as credit toward next season. Either way, just let us know early.
